Tumbler Ridge, BC – October 1, 2026 – The Tumbler Ridge Community Resiliency Fund will open its application portal now, putting more than $1.2 million generously donated from across British Columbia, Canada and internationally to work supporting the community’s long-term healing and resiliency.

Donations to the Fund continue to be accepted. The generosity shown to Tumbler Ridge has created an opportunity to invest in community-led initiatives that support healing, well-being, connection and resiliency in the months and years ahead.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed monthly, allowing organizations and community groups to bring projects forward when they are ready rather than working toward a single deadline.

The Fund offers different funding streams based on the size and complexity of a project. Smaller initiatives will have a streamlined application, while larger projects will require additional information or begin with an Expression of Interest.

This is not about grant-writing skills – it is about supporting great ideas that can help the healing journey of the community. The Northeast BC Community Foundation will work directly with applicants to develop their submissions, understand eligibility and determine the appropriate funding stream.

“The generosity shown to Tumbler Ridge has been extraordinary,” said Heather Kohler, Chair of the Northeast BC Community Foundation. “Now our responsibility is to ensure those donations support great ideas that will make a meaningful difference in the community – not just today, but throughout the healing journey ahead.”

Applications will be reviewed by the local Community Advisory Committee, with funding recommendations provided to the Northeast BC Community Foundation Board for approval.

An Application Q&A Session will be held on October 6th and 7th to explain the funding streams, eligibility and application process and answer questions from prospective applicants.

Application portal opens: October 1, 2026
Application intake: Rolling, with monthly reviews
Application Q&A Sessions: October 6 & 7 at the Tumbler Ridge Community Centre at 6pm each evening
