Our organization operates a community Food Bank, Christmas Hamper Program, Financially supports residents for Medical Travel & Treatment, Supports for Addiction & Disabilities, MedicAid (911 responding units) and Disaster Relief Support.
The programs that we offer to our community are funded by grants, private & corporate donations, profits from our Thrift Store & Laundromat and by Fundraising efforts. This past year we have benefited from an increase in donations and grant funding to see us through the current crisis. Without this tremendous support we would have struggled to deliver our programs.
Our little community is doing well. We all take pride in helping out those who need a little help. We were able to stock our Food Bank in the early days of the pandemic thanks to funding from Northeast BC Community Foundation Emergency Support Fund. We were able to team up with the Emergency Health Services personnel to make and deliver Covid care packages to shut in residents in the early stages of the pandemic thanks to funding from The United Way of Northern British Columbia. We were honored to partner with the RCMP and the District of Hudson’s Hope in their 12 Days of Christmas Giving Toy Drive. It was such fun and a huge success bringing Christmas to children & teens in our community. In our small communities it is important that all organizations can work together to support all residents. Our community does this well.
The Friends of Hudson’s Hope Society will continue to work towards supporting our communities needs. Yes, we have challenges to face. At present our biggest challenges are the increased need of Financial support for Medical travel & treatment, the increasing cost of healthy foods and the challenges Covid 19 has brought to our communities.
The Northeast BC Community Foundation is a tremendous support for our organization and for so many others. Thank You!
