The Northeast BC Community Foundation is inviting residents of Tumbler Ridge to play a direct role in shaping the community’s recovery and long-term resilience by joining the Tumbler Ridge Community Resiliency Fund Community Advisory Committee.
Established in response to the events of February 10, 2026, the Tumbler Ridge Community Resiliency Fund is designed to support community-led healing, recovery, and resilience initiatives in the months and years ahead. The Fund is administered by NEBCCF, with a strong commitment to ensuring that funding decisions are informed by local knowledge and community priorities.
To support this approach, NEBCCF is seeking a diverse group of Tumbler Ridge residents to serve on a Community Advisory Committee. The Committee will provide community-informed recommendations to the Foundation’s Board of Directors on funding priorities and grant allocations.
“Community recovery is not something that can be directed from the outside—it must be guided by the people who live it every day,” said Jennifer Moore, Executive Director of the Northeast BC Community Foundation. “This committee is an opportunity for residents to help ensure that funding reflects real needs, strengthens local capacity, and supports meaningful, long-term resilience.”
Committee members will help:
- Identify emerging community needs and priorities
- Review funding applications for community-based initiatives
- Provide recommendations to support fair and impactful funding decisions
The Advisory Committee operates in a non-decision-making capacity, with final funding approvals remaining the responsibility of the NEBCCF Board of Directors in accordance with charitable regulations and Foundation policies.
NEBCCF is encouraging participation from a broad cross-section of the community, including youth, community members, professionals, local organizations, and individuals with diverse lived experiences. No prior board or grant experience is required.
Committee members will serve a one-year term, with meetings expected to occur bi-weekly initially, transitioning to monthly as the Fund evolves.
Residents interested in contributing to the community’s recovery and future are encouraged to submit an expression of interest.
